Planning Your Stay

Thank you for choosing to stay at Dale House and we hope you enjoy this beautiful part of the country. To help you plan your trip and settle in to Dale House, please read the following information:

Parking:
Free parking for 6 cars.
5 guest passes are provided for the car park opposite the house.
1 car can park at the front of the house.
There is the option of a long stay parking fee at the car park if you have extra cars.
Electric charging points at the car park.

Internet:
Login details provided in the welcome notes at Dale House

Music:
There is a bluetooth speaker with radio for your use.

TV:
There is a Smart TV in the lounge.
Please bring your own login details if you’d like to use streaming services such as Netflix.

Noise:
Please respect the neighbours and keep noise to a minimum after 10pm. Thank you

Smoking:
Strictly No Smoking inside the house.
You will find a cigarette bin on the wall outside at the front.

Games room:
Multi sports table, snug area with TV, playstation, & little kids toys are provided for your enjoyment when you’re not out exploring the Dales. Please read the instructions and be very careful when turning the games table to swap onto the next game. When you are finished, please make sure all items are accounted for and put back into place.
Children will need to be supervised.
A selection of Board games are also provided which are stored in the boot room on the ground floor.

External:
Courtyard – There is a small outdoor area to the rear of the house that has a right of way walkthrough for residents. Please do not venture into next doors garden as this is private property.
BBQ’s – are not allowed due to close proximity to the oil tank.
Laundry with washing machine & dryer, & bike store

Dale House is surrounded by green rolling countryside. Have picnics in the fields or right next to the river while watching the children (Or adults!) play and swim in the clear water of the river Wharfe!
Be a local and have an icy cold bath in the deep part of the river during the winter months. Now that’s refreshing!! Will you do it? Let us know.

Celebrations:
Congratulations on your occasion!! We hope you have a wonderful time celebrating at Dale House in this wonderful part of the Yorkshire Dales.
We understand you may wish to put up banners or balloons but please respect the property and do not damage the walls by using tape, nails or blu-tack. We have placed nails above the picture rails in the lounge & dining room for things you need to hang. Enjoy!

Bins:
A large rubbish bin & smaller green recycling bin can be found outside the back door of the house. The collection for the rubbish is on the same day each week (Thursday) and the recycling bin every 2 weeks (Friday) The green recycling bin is for bottles, tins, cans, cardboard and paper only.
Please remove all of your rubbish & recycling from inside the house into the correct external bins before departure. Thank you.

Open fire:
You are welcome to use the open fire in the lounge. A complimentary starter pack of logs is provided in the winter months. Further supply of logs can be bought at various places.. the local Kettlewell shop, the service station across the road during the week, at the next service station and shop a short drive away at Threshfield or in Grassington. Always use the fireguard when using the open fire.

Heating & hot water:
The heating & hot water are pre set to come on at certain times of the day and evening. If you need extra heat during the day you can turn the thermostat dial in the hallway to the temperature you require. For hot water, this is scheduled so that there is enough hot water for everyone during a stay, however if you find this is not enough, you can press the illuminated blue boost button located above the heating thermostat, which will heat the hot water tank for the time specified on the blue button screen.
Storage heaters are also provided as an extra source of heat on extremely cold wintery days.

Babies:
We have 2 travel cots and 2 highchairs. Please bring your own baby bedding.

Bringing a dog?
If your pup is joining you, we kindly ask that they stay off the sofa and beds to help us keep everything fresh and comfortable for all our guests. Thanks so much for your understanding!

Safety:
We want you to enjoy your group stay at Dale House, but please be respectful of the house and it’s contents.
Please supervise young children up and down the stairs and when in the games room.
Most doors are fire doors, be careful that little fingers don’t get trapped. And please do not let your children jump on the beds, or from the bunk beds. We wouldn’t want anyone getting hurt.

Linen & Towels
Bed linen & towels are provided.

What else is provided?
Luxury Harrogate H2K hand wash for guests use in the house, as well as, a starter set of: One double toilet roll per bathroom, washing up liquid, bin bags, dish cloths, dishwasher tablets & laundry powder. Please bring any extras you may need.

Check out:
Strictly 10am.
This is when our cleaning team will arrive to prepare the house for the next guests arriving at 4pm. As you can appreciate, having many bedrooms and bathrooms, it takes the cleaning team a full 6 hours to complete a changeover.
Please make sure all parking permits and guest keys are returned to the Hallway.

Supermarkets:
Take the stress out of the food plan! Why not place a food order online in advance to be delivered to Dale House for just after you arrive?

The nearest big supermarkets are located in Skipton. Online orders and delivery are available to this area of Kettlewell.
There is a local convenience store here in Kettlewell. You can order online here ready to pick up when you arrive.

Smaller supermarkets are available in Grassington.
There is a SPAR & service station in Threshfield, a 10 minute drive from Dale House. Has a deli counter, serves baked goods, coffee, fruit & veg etc.

Bakeries:
Bake at home goods can be found at the local Kettlewell convenience store, and also the SPA at Threshfield. Traditional bakeries located in Grassington, a 10-15 minute drive from Dale House..
